My therapeutic approach is simple: I listen, I understand, and then try to help you better understand yourself. I believe in the enlightening potential of a therapeutic relationship. In treatment, you can gain clarity of your thoughts and feelings so that you can walk confidently towards healing and happiness in your life. I find fulfillment in helping my clients gain insight into who they are, how aspects of their behavior came to be, and how they can be the change.
In the eight years I have practiced, I've worked in many different mental health settings such as schools, community based agencies and private practice. I tailor treatment to meet my clients needs, such as short term Solution Focused and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for those who want and need relief from their symptoms quickly. For clients who are interested in a slower pace, my therapeutic styles as Person Centered, Strengths Based, Psychodynamic, Interpersonal, Multicultural and Family Systems.
Having seen the Bay Area change drastically over the last 10 years, I understand how the mental health of this area has developed towards high stress and a fast paced life. Silicon Valley affects us all in one way or another and it is my privilege to work with the diverse needs of this area.
When that Silicon Valley stress manifests into depression, anxiety, family conflict or trauma, the best thing you can do for yourself is working with a therapist that understands you. I pride myself in accepting people for where they are in their life and giving them support to go where they grow.
